However, running primarily burns carbohydrates, while walking burns stored fat. This means walking is a more effective exercise for weight loss.
Walking also reduces the risk of stroke by 33% and helps prevent diabetes. Walking for just 10–15 minutes after meals can significantly boost metabolism. Regular walking is the best way to restore physical strength and enhance concentration and focus. It is also highly effective in reducing depression and stress, making it an ideal exercise for students experiencing academic pressure.
The Industrial Revolution allowed people to avoid hard labor, but obesity became a new social challenge. The Roman military successfully carried out conquests thanks to well-designed marching boots. Walking is better for overall health than running. Studies show that walking at least 1.5 km daily and 10 km weekly can promote weight loss and longevity.
